The faculty of Theology, Law, and Islamic Studies
The faculty introduction : The Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies was established in 2007. This faculty has five specialized departments"Qur'anic Studies and Hadith," "Jurisprudence and Foundations of Islamic Law," "Law" aw." "Philosophy and Islamic Theology (Kalam)," and "Religions and Mysticism" and more than 600 students are enrolled across its bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. The "Islamic Studies" department (responsible for delivering general education courses to all undergraduate students university-wide) also exists as a general department within the faculty.
Establishment history: The Theology teaching unit initially began in 1990 as one of the teaching groups within the Faculty of Literature and Humanities and started operating in 1997. In 1997 it was split into two programs: "Islamic Philosophy and Wisdom" and "Jurisprudence and Foundations of Islamic Law." In 2006 it obtained
Ministry of Science approval to establish the Qur'anic Studies and Hadith program, and it began admitting students in that field from 2007. During this period the Islamic Studies group also independently provided general education courses. Finally, in 2007 the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies was founded with three specialized departments"Islamic Philosophy and Wisdom," "Jurisprudence and Foundations of Islamic Law," and "Qur'anic Studies and Hadith" and the general "Islamic Studies" group, and it began operating independently as one of the faculties of the University of Sistan and Baluchestan.
Newly established programs and degrees: In recent years several new programs and degree levels have been established in this faculty as follows:
1. Master's program in Jurisprudence and Foundations of Islamic Law established in 2004.
2. Master's program in Philosophy and Islamic Theology established in 2008, with student admissions beginning in October 2009.
3. Bachelor's program in Religions and Mysticism established in 2008, with student admissions beginning in October 2010.
4. Master's program in Qur'anic Studies and Hadith established in 2009, with student admissions in the 2010 academic year
5. Master's in Hadith Studies with two specializations-"Nahj al-Balaghah" (established 2013) and "Traditional/Impactful Exegesis" (established 2015).
6.PhD program in Jurisprudence and Foundations of Islamic Law established in 2014. 7. Establishment of the Law department at the bachelor's level in 2021.
8. The faculty's name was changed to the Faculty of Theology, Law, and Islamic Studies in 2023.
