Introduction
Indian subcontinent with over one and a half billion people, with four million and four hundred thousand square kilometers, having more than 236 million Muslims, being adjacent to the homeland and our province, and sharing the commonalities of race, ethnic, history and culture with Iran is very sensitive and strategic area in Asia.
Unfortunately, despite the existence of deep ethnic, linguistic, historical and cultural ties between the two nations, there hasn’t been done any profound academic investigation for better understanding of the subcontinent in our country. In order to fulfill this scientific objective, USB has established this research institute on 20 February 2002.
The Institute has four academic fields of "culture and civilization", "Business and Economics", "ethnicity and religion", and "popular culture and language" which research in the field of various issues related to the sub-continent.

Activities
Correction of Persian manuscripts, books translation from Urdu to Farsi, holding international scientific conferences, and conducting workshops are of cultural-research activities of this institute.
