As reported by the university's Public Relations Office, Dr. Mehdi Mortazavi and Dr. Fariba Mosapour, faculty members of the Archaeology Department, traveled to Bishkek from 6 to 12 Khordad 1404 (May 27 to June 3, 2025) to enhance scientific and cultural relations between the two universities.
During this visit, the professors from University of Sistan and Baluchestan delivered academic lectures on "Civilizational Commonalities between Iran and Central Asia" at Manas University, which were warmly received by the academic community of Kyrgyzstan. These programs received extensive media coverage by local outlets and Manas Television Network.
Additionally, visits were made to prominent museums in Kyrgyzstan, including the Archaeological Museum of Manas University and the National Museum of Kyrgyz History, as well as the Burana Historical Complex (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). These visits clearly demonstrated the shared cultural heritage between Iran and Kyrgyzstan.
On the sidelines of this trip, meetings were held with the President of Manas University and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kyrgyzstan. Discussions emphasized strengthening cooperation in areas such as:
Faculty and student exchange programs
Joint archaeological projects
Publication of collaborative research papers
Organization of international conferences
This visit marked an effective step toward achieving the university's internationalization goals and showcasing the academic capabilities of University of Sistan and Baluchestan at the regional level.
